Excitement is starting to build ahead of Fortnite Chapter 3’s first major competition.
Fortnite’s premiere competitive offering, the Fortnite Champion Series, is back for Chapter 3 starting February 17. This time around its all about Duos, and it will be staying that way throughout 2022.
On Wednesday, Epic Games shared a blog post with further details on the event. The format has now been fully fleshed out, including a new Match Point provision, which allows a team to end the Finals early by scoring 500 points and 3 Victory Royales.
MATCH POINT:
500 Points is almost impossible (EU)Setty, Kami Teeq S8 finals placements and elims is 520, however this was trios.
Benjy and Savage’s R1 CC match history will.
12 Wins, 3 elims is 492.
8 Wins with 10 elims each, then dead off spawn 4 games is 496. pic.twitter.com/DfjdSE57fD

Of most interest to many pros and hopefuls however, was the prize pool. A total of $3,008,500 is up for grabs across all regions, which is very similar to last year.
This time though, things are a little more top heavy. The winners in Europe for example will be walking away with $150k each, while those who place 46th-50th will have to make do with just $750 apiece. As usual, there is no money available outside of the Finals.

Top teams will earn the FNCS 3:1 Champion Outfit and Winner’s Mark Back Bling. These items are yet to be revealed, but are sure to be a great addition to your Fortnite locker.
Full details will be released closer to the tournament, though we do know that this will be a standard “complete up to 10 matches in 3 hours” style event.
