‘This is Us’ to have a Reunion? Here’s everything you need to know

This is Us is among the notable American drama television series streaming on NBC. The fifth season of the show premiered on 27 October 2020, and it was renewed for the sixth and final season on 4 January 2022. As the fans are awaiting the release of the series finale, the creators recently escalated the curiosity of the fans by teasing a possibility of a reunion. 

This is Us features an ensemble cast of prolific actors namely Milo Ventimiglia as Jack Pearson, Mandy Moore as Rebecca Pearson, Chrissy Metz as Kate Pearson, Sterling K. Brown as Randall Pearson, Justin Hartley as Kevin Pearson, Chris Sullivan as Toby Damon, Susan Kelechi Watson as Beth, Jon Huertas as Miguel Rivas, Eris Baker as Tess Pearson, Faithe Herman as Annie Pearson, among others. 

This is Us Reunion in development?

During an NBC Zoom panel, This is Us series creator Dan Fogelman talked about the possible series reunion with its continuation through a movie in future and stated that he says no to nothing. The showrunner further explained that he was aware that a midlife crisis was right around the corner for him, and that whatever he did next, he’d hate in comparison to the show and these actors.

“I say no to nothing. I’m very aware that a midlife crisis is right around the corner for me, and that whatever I do next, I’m going to hate in comparison to the show and these actors, so I say no to nothing.”

Stating further about his plans for the reunion, he mentioned that when he’d want to do something for This Is Us with the present cast members, he’d suspect they would all be very busy and winning awards and Emmys and Oscars and all. 

He said, “When I want to do something for This Is Us with these guys, I suspect they’ll all be very busy and winning awards and Emmys and Oscars and all this stuff.”

Furthermore, he clarified that he wasn’t against the concept of the reunion and stated that he’d love to get back together with these guys and do it if they could figure out a movie down the road. He then talked about a possible plot of the film by stating how it could be about what would happen if Jack survived the fire. 

“If we could figure out a movie down the road, I’d love to get back together with these guys and do it,” he said. “I don’t know what that would be. By the end of this season, I think we’ll have told the complete story, so, I’m not sure. If you’re doing the movie of, like, what would happen if Jack survived the fire or something, but I don’t know…”
