Form 26AS, a key income tax reporting form, contains different facts such as tax deducted or paid on taxpayers’ income from a variety of sources. It is a tax credit statement for the assessee that includes TDS, TCS, Advance Tax or Self-Assessment Tax paid, Regular Tax, tax refund received, data for an Assessment Year, and so on. Foreign transfers, mutual fund purchases, dividends, refund information, and other items are now included in the scope of Form 26as.
Here are some steps to easily download Form 26AS on the new Income Tax Portal:
Step 1: Visit incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/
Step 2: Log in to your account using your User ID (that is either your PAN or Aadhar Number) and continue.
Step 3: Go to the file section and select the ‘Income Tax Returns’ option from there.
Step 4: After that, select the ‘File Income Tax Return’.
Step 5: Click on the ‘View Form 26 AS (Tax Credit)’ option.
Step 6: After confirming the above option, you will reach the TDS-CPC Portal.
Step 7: You must have to agree to the usage and acceptance of the Form.
Step 8: Click on proceed and select the ‘View Tax Credit (Form 26AS)’
Step 9:Select the ‘Assessment Year’ and ‘View type’. (Text, PDF or HTML)
Step 10: Click on “View/Download”.
