The highly anticipated upcoming web series Rocket Boys is finally set to launch this week, but when will the show release for streaming on SonyLIV?
A massive week for fans of Indian cinema and television series is this week, being topped-off by the highly anticipated Rocket Boys.
Whilst Looop Lapeta is bringing the action and The Great Indian Murder brings the mystery, it’s up to the Rocket Boys to deliver the stakes.
With a story focusing on the inception of the Indian Space Programme, Rocket Boys will take the world by storm when it premiers on SonyLIV – but when will the series release for online streaming?
The Rocket Boys are blasting off again
Rocket Boys is an upcoming web series created by Nikkhil Advani (Mumbai Diaries 26/11, Hasmukh and P.O.W. Bandi Yuddh Ke).
The eight-episode series will premiere for online streaming through the SonyLIV platform and will focus on the careers of Dr. Homi J. Bhabha and Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, who were central figures in the creation of the Indian Space Programme.

SonyLIV currently has only one subscription package that will grant users access to Rocket Boys when it premieres, but thankfully several different payment plans are in place. SonyLIV Premium is priced at Rs 299 for one month, Rs 699 for six months and Rs 999 for 12 months.

Rocket Boys: Release date and time
As confirmed in the official trailer for the upcoming series, Rocket Boys will release for online streaming via the SonyLIV platform in India on Friday, February 4th, 2022.
SonyLIV doesn’t have a set time for new content to be released; however, Filmibeat has reported that the series will launch from midnight India Standard Time.

Season 1 of Rocket Boys will consist of eight individual episodes, all of which are expected to launch on February 4th via SonyLIV.
Meet the cast
The two main characters in Rocket Boys will be played by Jim Sarbh and Ishwak Singh, who will be portraying Dr. Homi J. Bhabha and Dr. Vikram Sarabhai respectively.
Jim Sarbh is a popular Indian actor from Bombay, who predominantly works within the Hindi cinema industry. He made his acting debut in 2009 and has gone on to feature in some of the biggest hits from the Hindi industry in the past several years, including Neerja (2016), Padmaavat (2018), Sanju (2018) and Sometimes, I Think About Dying (2019).
The 34-year-old has also featured in the likes of A Death in the Gunj (2016), The Wedding Guest (2018), House Arrest (2019) and Made in Heaven (2019).
Alongside Sarbh is Ishwak Singh, a rising star of the Hindi cinema industry. The young actor made his professional debut in 2013 and has credits in the likes of Aligarh (2015), Veere Di Wedding (2018), Malaal (2019) and Unpaused (2020).
His biggest role came in 2020, where he appeared as Imran Ansari in the hit Amazon Prime Video series Paatal Lok.
