Disturbance: North Berkley Square
A plow driver was approached Feb. 3 by a resident of a residential living complex who was upset with his snow removal methods. The resident took a snow shovel from the driver’s truck so he could show the man, 19, how to shovel snow. An argument ensued between the two men.
Responding officers helped adjust the situation and advised the 51-year-old resident to contact the homeowner’s association regarding the snow removal services.
Auto theft: SOM Center Road
A representative of Deacon’s reported Feb. 4 that a customer’s vehicle was missing from the lot. It had been brought in for service and was discovered missing when the customer came to retrieve it.
The vehicle, a 2021 Jeep Wrangler, was subsequently entered as stolen.
Theft: Metro Park Drive
A man said Feb. 5 that he inadvertently sent a $500 check to the wrong contact on his online banking app and that business had not returned the funds. He said the company was not responding to his calls.
Officers advised him to contact the local police agency in North Carolina, where the company is located.
Marijuana possession: SOM Center Road
Upon a traffic stop Feb. 5, an odor of marijuana was detected from the vehicle, so a K-9 sniff was given. Three bags of marijuana were subsequently located in the glovebox and a woman’s purse.
The driver, a 19-year-old resident, was cited for expired plates and he and the passenger, a South Euclid woman, are facing possible charges pending the outcome of lab results.
General assistance: SOM Center Road
A man was said to be agitated and “flipping off” cars as he crossed the street near Smokin Q’s BBQ Feb. 7. Responding officers located him walking on the pathway by the road and he checked OK.
Fraud: Oakwood Drive
A woman reported Feb. 7 that an AT&T Directv account had been fraudulently opened using her husband’s personal information.
The account was believed to have been opened in Texas. The woman was advised to contact the AT&T fraud department.
Impaired driving: SOM Center Road
A drunk driver nearly struck two vehicles and a patrol car while driving northbound in a southbound lane around 10 p.m. Feb. 7. The Solon man, 71, was arrested for OVI and was later taken to the hospital during booking due to his high level of intoxication.
