The McCracken County Community Career Endowment has announced the recipients of this year’s Educational Aid Scholarships.
20 students will be recognized during a reception held April 24 at the West Kentucky Community and Technical College Emerging Technology Center. During the April 24 reception, two scholarship winners will be awarded paid laptops with donations from Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Because of additional funding from the Fred and Peggy Paxton Non-Ended Fund, the MCCCE states that the increased scholarship funding will also be presented to six students in the eleventh grade of the Paxton Scholars Program: Zabrina Hunter, Maliah Jones, Rosie Minter, Joseph Reeves. Jr., Maisie Robinson and Caitlin Williams. Six Class X students of the PaxtonScholars Program will receive funding earned during their 2022 Spring College semester and students recently selected for the PaxtonScholars Program Class XII will also be recognized.
MCCCE awarded a total of $22,350 to the Educational Aid Scholarship Fund for 2022. Recipients are:

- Audrea Hawthorne – Murray State University, Communication Disorders Major
- Trinity Patterson – West Kentucky Community and Technical College, Criminology Major
- Zoe Houston – McCracken County High School Senior, Murray State University, physics major
- Camden Marshall – Paduka Tilghman High School Sr., Murray State University, OSHA Major
- Dale Young III – Paduka Tilghman High School Sr., Kentucky State University, major of exercise science
- Brenda Taylor – Paduka Tilghman High School Senior, undecided
- Avery Strayhorn – West Kentucky Community and Technical College, Architectural Engineering Major
- Donnie Shaw – McCracken County High School Senior, West Kentucky Community and Technical College, Physical Therapy Major
- Amiya Shannon – Paduka Tilghman High School Sr., University of Louisville, psychology major
- Katherine Morrison – McCracken County High School Senior, University of Louisville, major of nursing
- Kevont Kilby – University of Kentucky, Electrical Engineering major
- Amaya Kendrick – Paduka Tilghman High School Sr., Eastern Kentucky University, Head of Marketing
- Gabrielle Copeland – Paduka Tilghman High School Sr., University of Kentucky, musical theater major
- Shyamiya Day – McCracken County High School Senior, University of Louisville, major of exercise science
- Landon Fitzgerald – Paduka Tilghman High School Senior, undecided, major of exercise science
- Darois Flemans – University of Kentucky, major of kinesiology
- Eliza Gaines – Paduka Tilghman High School Senior – Western Kentucky University, Social Media Marketing Major
- Wesley Saxton – West Kentucky Community and Technical College, Nursing Major
- Alexa White – University of Louisville, major of nursing
MCCCE also announced the recipients of the Sixth Annual BA Hamilton Memorial Scholarship and the Charles Hicks Memorial Scholarship. Those recipients are:

Charles Hicks Memorial Scholarship
- Anaya McHaney – West Kentucky Community and Technical College, undecided major

- Camden Marshall – Murray State University, OSHA chief (selected in 2021)
In addition, eight field mentoring/tutoring organizations each received a $1,200 grant from the MCCCE Fredericia Hargrove Mentoring/Tutoring Enrichment Program. Those organizations are:

- Life Community, Inc.
- Luther Carson Four Rivers Center
- Keys II at Broadway United Methodist Church
- Bavandar Gali Yuva Seva Kendra
- Black Cole and Roses Society Young Ladies Organization
