CENTRAL, La. (BRPROUD) – Captain Jimmy Santangelo is a member of East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.
Santangelo is retiring soon after working with the sheriff’s office on two different occasions.
From 1985 to 1989, Santangelo worked at the Parish Prison and Uniform Patrol.
Santangelo returned to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office in 2009 and is planning to retire on February 28 of this year.
Captain Santangelo lives in Central and over the last year has been dealing with Leukemia.
The police department where Santangelo lives is doing what they can to help with Santangelo’s care expenses.
CPD is holding a jambalaya fundraiser on Saturday March 26.
