The new season recently launched and brought in a plethora of new weapons and other loot. Looks like this one will have the Firework Gun.
Here’s our first look at the upcoming “Firework Gun” that is coming this season. It’ll be found in Chests, Floor Loot, Supply Drops & Sold by an NPC. And I’m assuming it’ll be like a grenade launcher. (thanks to @ShotMarco3 for pointing this out) pic.twitter.com/NbXhWfUrBp

According to prominent Fortnite leaker HYPEX, the Firework Gun should be coming soon this season. Based on the video uploaded in their tweet, you could spot what seems to be a glimpse of the Firework Gun. The clip came from Season 3’s Vibin’ intro video wherein players could more or less see what to expect for the season. HPEX also mentioned that once the weapon makes its debut, players can expect to find it in Chests, Floor Loot, Supply Drops, and NPCs.
Sadly, there isn’t any concrete evidence about how the dynamic of the Firework Gun would play out in Fortnite. The best we can do is to come up with assumptions on how the weapon will work. Honestly, it could be one of two things, either it’ll be a variation of the Grenade Launcher or the Flare Gun.
Avid Fortnite fans are well aware of the fact that Grenade Launchers have seasonal variations. During Easter, players get to use the Egg Launcher, while in the winter, we’d get the Snowball Launcher. As of right now, there isn’t a dedicated variation of the Grenade Launcher for the summer season. With that being said, the Firework Gun coming out this season could be a perfect time. Especially considering the third season’s theme, having fireworks in a vibey environment makes perfect sense.
However, if you’re going to take a closer look at the short clip provided by HYPEX, the new weapon seems to be more like a Flare Gun. The way the fireworks just scatter in mid-air after launch, being a variation of a Flare Gun makes more sense. That remains to be seen though, so for now we’ll just have to wait until the gun officially releases in Fortnite.
