It may have only been a week since the beginning of Apex Legends Season 13, but a brand new update was deployed earlier today (May 23), with some important fixes and improvements.
Players won’t find any new content in today’s update, but that should come as no surprise considering all of the fresh changes and new features included with the launch of Season 13 just a couple of weeks ago. Fans were treated to some major changes on Storm Point, as well as a brand new Legend known as Newcastle.
But with the launch of a brand new season, there are bound to be a few bugs here and there that need ironing out. One of the main fixes included in today’s update relates to Newcastle, the newest Legend to join the Apex Games. So, if you’re eager to find out more, here are the official patch notes for the May 23 Apex Legends update.

Apex Legends Update 1.96 Patch Notes (May 23)
Although Respawn Entertainment is yet to release the official changelog for the May 23 Apex Legends update, we do know what fixes to expect.
As confirmed by RSPN_Pav, a member of the live team support for Apex Legends, today’s update will fix an issue with Newcastle. More specifically, Newcastle’s ultimate ability was stunning Wraith whilst in the middle of her phase. This was also affecting others who use Wraith’s portal.
There will also likely be many other fixes included in today’s patch, as the official Apex Legends Trello Board has the following issues labelled as ‘coming in future patch’:
- Audio – Players are reporting strange audio issues such as an echo unless console audio is set to “Stereo Uncompressed”.
- Predator Ranks getting incorrect rewards.
- The Teleporter for teleporting squadmates inside the IMC Armory is sometimes not working.
- Loba’s tactical fails on certain Storm Point terrain.
- Various Newcastle bugs.
We will be updating this article with the official patch notes as soon as Respawn Entertainment publish them, so stay tuned for further details.
