Apex Legends season 12 is well underway, introducing the new character Mad Maggie, adding the new Control LTM, and celebrating the game’s third anniversary. That’s not to say it’s been a perfect launch, as while servers have been okay so far, many players are upset with Bloodhound’s new prestige skin and have called for protests of it.
Nonetheless, the season moves forward, and it’ll be interesting to see how Apex Legends continues and/or improves seasonal content this year. But, as more and more seasons bring in maps and characters, it’ll also bring in new launch trailers. These are usually pretty interesting, especially as shirtless Fuse caught fans’ attention and the slow changes of Wraith have inspired debate, but these also usually “kill” characters.
Redditor ItsChris2608, taking note of this, recently counted the number of times each character has been killed in an Apex Legends launch trailer. Obviously, older legends have appeared in more meaning their counts are naturally higher, but there’s still some interesting data here. Caustic has died the most out of any legend, while Ash, Mad Maggie, and Valkyrie have never died.
As seen above (and listed out below), there’s a huge divide when it comes to which legends die the most. Caustic leads in first, Bloodhound in second, but then Gibraltar, Lifeline, Wraith, Bangalore, and Mirage all tie for third. Octane and Revenant tie for fourth, but split in half, it seems there are some legends that die quite often in Apex Legends launch trailers when compared to those who hardly do. The entire breakdown comes in at…
- Caustic – 8 deaths
- Bloodhound – 7 deaths
- Gibraltar – 6 deaths
- Lifeline – 6 deaths
- Wraith – 6 deaths
- Bangalore – 6 deaths
- Mirage – 6 deaths
- Octane – 5 deaths
- Revenant – 5 deaths
- Wattson – 3 deaths
- Horizon – 3 deaths
- Crypto – 2 deaths
- Loba – 2 deaths
- Fuse – 2 deaths
- Lifeline – 1 death
- Rampart – 1 death
- Seer – 1 death
- Ash – 0 deaths
- Mad Maggie – 0 deaths
- Valkyrie – 0 deaths
Ash and Mad Maggie are to be expected given they are the most recent characters to join Apex Legends, but Valkyrie has been around for four seasons now (Season 9-12). It’s a bit surprising she hasn’t had one death in all of this, but by and large, the community seems to be having fun with these statistics. Taking note of Caustic’s lead in deaths, many shared his more death-oriented voice lines such as “I feel most alive when rapidly approaching my death,” Death is not mercurial, it’s patient. Unlike life,” and “The distance between life and death is measured by suffering.”
Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X versions are in development.
